[Domestic News] Imagination comes alive in Paju
본문
Just an hour's drive from Seoul to the northwest lies the city of Paju 'near by DMZ', which is home to a beautiful culture town, a place packed with artistic and creative restaurants, dozens of coffee shops, and stylish stores attracting visitors of all ages. The area is often dubbed "The Village" due to the unique environment that resembles the area of Provence, France, and is popular as a filming location for TV dramas such as “The Master's Sun (2013),” “My Love from the Star (2013),” and “The Girl Who Sees Smells (2015).” Provence Village in Paju began in 1996 with the opening of a chic French restaurant. Since then, the area has expanded to include various European-styled restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops. Simply walking down the streets lined with beautiful colors will have you feeling you’re in France. Be sure to try some of the tasty street foods. The ring-shaped garlic bread called a "kiss-ring" is quite popular; it was even tasted by Pope Francisco on his papal visit to Korea. The operating hours and closed days vary by each shop, so it’s a good idea to check in advance if there is somewhere in particular you’d like to visit.
